Go into shop warnings (Job Maintenance Master Files) and turn on the
warnings for operations completed over and under required quantity...then
have somebody in Production Control look at the shop warnings every
day...and go back to the person who made the error and make them fix it.
People actually can be convinced to pay better attention when they are
"reminded" often. Pretty soon, there will be a "few" errors instead of a
mountain of them.

Subject: [Vantage] Data Entry
We are experiencing a small problem with data entry, specifically
with our quantities entered for operations. I am looking for some
input on how others have solved this problem. The biggest problem we
experience is our numbers are not consistent. We mill 5pcs, plate 5
pcs, inspect 15 (data entry error should be 5) and paint 10 (another
data entry error). I am looking for some advice on what controls
anyone has implemented to ensure your data entry is correct. Is
anyone else having this problem?
