Database file maximum size (Vantage 6.10.543 - Progress 9.1d)

Thank you Jose!  You are truly such an asset to this group!!

Chuck Shrader

Greetings.

I've searched online for this information but cannot find it.  We have Vantage 6.10.543 running on a legacy Windows Server 2003 (32-Bit).  Progress version is 9.1d.  I want to get Vantage upgraded but that's another story.

Is there a maximum file size of the .db file before we hit a brick wall so to speak?  (i.e. Vantage stops working) -   Currently our file is a bit over 3 gigabytes, but I've heard that 32-bit environments have limitations when working with files over 4 gigabytes.

If there is a limit, is it the OS, Progress itself, or Epicor limitations?

Thanks,

Chuck S.

Assuming you are running NTFS on that Server then there is no limitation on file size , however progress does have a limitation on file size but (at least on version 10 of Open Edge) this can be configured. Though the limit is 2GB and you should have already reached that... so you should be fine
