Here is an Azure anecdote for you. I received an alert that our MRP process failed last night (I have a windows scheduled task set up to check this). During the investigation, I discovered that our server crashed at 1:24am while MRP was running. It turned out that Microsoft had to move the server within their systems due to hardware failure on their end. The total downtime for this incident was 9 minutes and the other tasks immediately continued processing once the server was back up, and I was not woken up to deal with any of it! Sure I have to rerun MRP this morning but its a small price to pay.
