Database on one drive and program install on another?

The file on the database line in the .vtg is typically used with the -1
option (single user mode) on the connectoptions line. The -S option (service
name) overrides that file with the file associated with it on the -H option
(server).

I just want to make sure I've got this right. Is it possible to move the
database to drive E (2nd hard drive) from C and leave the installation on C.
The reason I ask is because while it appears to be working fine the
properties for the vtg file still references the old v:\vantage\db\dcdv7
file but that folder no longer exists. Does the vtg file really not matter
with respect to database location.

Like I said it seems fine but I just want to dbl check.
