Date format on Travelers

I have had the same problem with invoices and also agree with you on the
Crystal Reports. We ended changing regional settings back on the workstation
w/in your control panel and that it least forced Vantage to format 00/00/00
which would at least give you the year 01 ?

This is my first reply to a posting so please pardon me if I am not doing
this correctly.

I have pretty much totally rewritten the traveler as a seperate "Shipping
Advisor" report (just the shipping info) and ran into this same issue for
the releases. I found that changing the format from "System Default Short
Format" to the one listed as 03/01/1999 helped the appearance a lot. I also
noticed that the relases are not listed in ascending date order and had to
add a sort group - or in my case since I had eliminated all the other groups
- changed group #2 to be jobship.REQDATE. When changing the date field
format allow for wider display area or it will chop off right edge (if left
alligned).

BTW - Our shipping releases are so fluid and change daily on orders due to
customer requests so we developed the seperate shipping advisor in order to
not have to change the traveler as it makes its way around the shop floor.
The advisor is re-printed as needed and goes to shipping without affecting
the traveler. You have to select jobs via the traveler report (close after
preview) in order to create .dbf files in Vntgwork on the user PC but it
works well. If there is interest I will attempt to post the Crystal .rpt
file. If there is a better way to select records please advise.

It sounds very interesting and I would be interested in taking a look at it.
So please do post it.
