If my DB is on version 2022.2.8 and I upgrade one of my environments to 2022.2.x. Can I restore the lower version DB to the upgraded version? I am thinking I can and it will just tell me there is a mismatch and upgrade it. It has been so long I can’t remember.

There’s an Upgrade Database option in the Epicor Admin Console. After you restore, you need to run that.
Wait. Going from .0 to .X is the client not EAC.
What version is the DB?
What version is the APP server?
If the DB was already updated to the .0 version, you should be able to just connect the database in app server and then open the client and the latest .X will be applied.
Do yourself a favor, after upgrading the test database, make another backup to avoid this step each time you restore.
