We are on Kinetic 2022.2.37. We have been having delays with emails being sent from Kinetic to a user. Most reports are it takes 10 to 15 minutes to get the email. Today the user reported the email was sent and over 30 minutles later still not email. The email logs in Kinetic show not errors and that it processed. I am guessing the SMTP server is the issue. Anyone have thoughts what to look at or what the issue could be?
10-15 minutes seems excessive to begin with. If Kinetic’s passed it through then there’s something up with the SMTP relay and/or mailserver. We have SMTP relaying to 365…and any time there’s been trouble, it’s usually 365 as a whole and not so much the source of the traffic.
Thank you. I have spoken with my IT department and they are going to review the SMTP server. Currently we are not relaying to 365, per IT.
OK, good luck with it…something just sounds off from what you’ve described…it shouldn’t take 10-15m for an email to arrive at its destination.
I agree and if I recall it was not taking that long before. This is new
I’m surprised people don’t have more involvement with the SMTP output side of things with Epicor
I feel like I’m hunting though it multiple times as week. was strange that Epicor did not force users to get Sendgrid accounts from the get-go so they can do their own outbound checking, at this moment I’m trying to get our data guru to grab the data back from sendgrid of the actual delivery so someone somewhere knows if something went wrong.
how to organizations operate without this?
We run our SMTP relay through 365 and it’s usually immediate unless 365 is just slow. I can see our outbound Sent Items, can run a message trace…seems to work OK for us.
