Deleted Progress Windows Account

Ah, ok I see it now and it's running but set to run as SYSTEM.

So I guess i'll just keep an eye on event log if anything couldn't start and change it to system.

Hi All, 


Our IT manager while 'cleaning up' deleted a windows account named 'Progress'. I guess this was created during install. So far everything is still working, but we didn't reboot yet and are kind of afraid to.


Does anybody know what this account does and can you give me parameters to recreate it if it's necessary?  We are using Vista 8.03.407.

I know of zero reasons why there would be a domain account. Never seen one. It may have been for email alerts for sending emails on BAMs or something.

I believe it is there for running the openedge admin service.

How is that service run? I don't see it in normal services list.

Anyway guess we'll restart and see what happens.

Ours is listed in the services list.

Called:  AdminService for Open Edge 10.1B

I know we can't open Progress Explorer Tool if it is not running.
