Deploying Customization to MES in 2024.1

  • We are on 2024.1.15 Cloud.

  • I’ve created a customization to one of the MES screens, which works correctly in App Studio.

  • The customization is Published (i.e., using the cloud icon).

  • The customization is for all companies.

  • In Classic Menu Maintenance, menu ID PR000440 for “MES (Shop Floor)” (all companies is checked) allows for a Customization, but the popup to choose the customizations shows no available customizations.

  • In Kinetic Menu Maintenance, menu ID PR000440 for “MES (Shop Floor)” (all companies is checked) is read-only, as it is a System Menu. So, it does not allow adding a customization.

  1. Opened the customization in App Studio in MES and did SaveAs, changing only the Company selection to the current company (it is the only company).
  2. Copied the menu ID PR000440 to Current Company.
  3. The menu entry is now for the current company and allows clicking on the Kinetic Customization, but the customization list for that menu entry is empty.
  4. In the classic Menu Maintenance, the customization list for that menu entry is likewise empty.

Any thoughts?

Was the customization created under Erp.UI.Mes in application studio?

Yes. I am using the web-based MES client.
The App Studio URL includes “/PR000440/Erp.UI.Mes/designer/pages”.

I’m only saying this because I’ve done this myself. There are two cloud Icons, the one in the overflow menu and the one next to it. You hit publish within the overflow menu correct? The other cloud icon is commit, which does not actually publish.

O.M.G. - that was it!!

How is it possible I missed that??

(Probably because the two icons are identical yet for different purposes, and because the functions should be side-by-side instead of on different menus.)

Glad to hear it! I actually put in a ticket with Epicor before I figured this out. :laughing:
