Deprecation of Basic authentication in Exchange Online for Service Connect

According to Microsoft, they are removing the Basic authentication in Exchange Online for Exchange ActiveSync (EAS), POP, IMAP, Remote PowerShell, Exchange Web Services (EWS), Offline Address Book (OAB), Outlook for Windows, and Mac.

Does it mean Service Connect will have problem connecting to the POP mail box after 1st October 2022?

Hi Toby,

If you get the basic authentication disabled, this will interrupt Service Connect’s ability to connect to IMAP/POP3 mail boxes.

According to September 2022 update from Exchange team, there will be a way provided to re-enable basic auth until the end of the year, once - Basic Authentication Deprecation in Exchange Online – September 2022 Update - Microsoft Community Hub

Service Connect 11.2.200 Controlled Release has support for Office 365 Modern Authentication with Password Grant (UI, runtime), with a UI glitch, as it is not obvious which fields are disabled/enabled in channel setup UI, and absence of the help topic on configuring this mode.
