The thing is, taking away the emoji doesn’t make the dumpster fire actually go away. Maybe we need a sanitized version to make it more acceptable to denote the occurrence of a dumpster fire. How about “no fire detected”

Someone asked for a new emoji and while I was in there I cleaned things up a bit. Yes, I intentionally removed the dumpster fire one because it had become one hell of a weapon. Not always without reason, mind you.
One of the things we are trying to do here is actually make Epicor better by making sure we have a voice that can be heard instead of being labeled as incorrigile whiny bots. A lot of posts lately have turned into a bit of an echo chamber of “me too” and “everything is awful.” And to be fair, that feeling is not always wrong.
But if we keep things more constructive it gives Epicor something they can actually act on. That is the hope anyway.
When a thread about someone having a real problem turns into a pile of dumpster fire reactions, circus memes, and general chaos, it stops being useful and starts muddying the waters.
Having fun is great and lord knows misery loves company, but we are trying to keep the main issue threads focused and purposeful.
Off Topic is a perfectly acceptable place to unleash the flaming garbage heap of your feelings. But the reaction itself was getting used a little too enthusiastically, so the little guy is retired for now.
Mostly as a favor to my own mental health.
I know some people will disagree with this approach and that is fine. If the urge becomes overwhelming, feel free to email your dumpster fires directly to Epicor.
But like it or not we all have to live in this ecosystem, so we are trying to work with them to actually fix some of the things that are broken.
And I know some of you won’t believe but but I’ll say it anyway , this isn’t about trying to protect Epicor (lords knows I give them a LOT of feedback both directly and indirectly about the mess they’ve created as of late), this is 100% about protecting our community, we have a strong respected voice right now and we don’t want to lose that by becoming the incorrigible children in the corner of the classroom throwing spitballs.

There’s a fine line between acknowledging the pain points and thinking about how to deal or at least cope on one side, and a cathartic
on the other.
I’m agreeing if that doesn’t make sense.
I often find myself missing a 
because a thumbs up is not quite the same thing. Also useful for snark, but it’s no dumpster fire.
