DMT BOM Updates

Hi, I’m starting to use the DMT and I’m wondering if there is a way to “fetch / export” the data list from Kinetic to the DMT based on my import template?

I have a lot of “Bill of materials” update to do and I’m wondering if I have an option other than creating a BAQ that is almost like my DMT template.

Also, do I need to run a revision update first to reopen the validations (check out) before making BOM changes ?

  • Make a BAQ to get your source data
  • modify the excel data to match the updates you require
  • export it as CSV

This is an old DMT I used to update a custom field on PartMtl (iirc)

Do I need to make sure that the “Method / Revision” is NOT approved first?

I don’t think so. Never a bad idea to test a single row and see what happens.

If you are changing approved revisions you may want to make a baq for their approval date and approver so you can them back after so they are not all you and the date of the update.

If you are updating unapproved then do a baq for them so you can unapproved them again since a check in is going to leave them approved.
