We’re spinning off an existing Site into its own Company. So we’re quering the data out of Epicor from the current Company/Site to the New Company/Site that’s been setup and configured.
So I have the Sales Orders load going in.
But Open Projects are kicking my butt.
I first tried doing Projects and then WBS Phases (After properly linking the CS projects back to their Sales Orders), but the WBS fails because the WBS Phase won’t create due to not having a Phase ID (And entering in the “” that displays in Project Entry errors as well.
I’m going to test running the ProjectsCombined (As it’s the only way I have found to enter the Project GL Control) with the “CreateJob” checkbox checked… however even if this works, and Generates both the Root Phase and the job, the Job Numbers aren’t going to match the existing Job numbers, which is going to cause me more headaches.
Does ANYONE have experience with successful Project DMT migrations and offer me advice as to the proper order of DMT tables to process to get TM & CS Projects into Epicor with the same exact information from our current company, so that they will be able to easily move accumulated costs from the current company into the new companies WIP Jobs and Projects???
If using combined, what are the key sub-tables to utilize? (I realized EntityGLC# for the GL Controls).
You can go into the DMT tool and look at all the tables and fields by selecting the ‘Template Builder’ option. If you want it will even create a template for you for the selected fields when you select ‘Create Template’.
When it comes to DMT, it’s still basically the exact same. I know how to create templates. But what are the proper order of DMT templates that I need to create and load. That’s where I’m struggling.
I haven’t been able to create the “Root” WBS Phase as of yet.
To add insult to injury, we are literally in the middle of our Go-Live… which was thrust upon me without having developed and vetted all of the templates first… and this is my first time dealing with Projects.
I’ve been using DMT and doing go-lives since 2012. Version 9, 10, and now Kinetic. Everything else I’m good on… but have not been able to figure out Projects.
Yea, Unfortunately I can’t help you with the order of the DMTs for projects. My intention with my post was so you could tell the sub-tables in the ‘combined’ options.
I thought leaving the job id blank automatically created the job, or at least if I recall in E9 when I last did projects… That added a huuge amount of time having it create the jobs.
You may want to look at the Project Combined Template that allows you to do the project and the phases all at the same time.
