DMT Sales History

Rule #481 - I was told this was supposed to be easy. That will teach me to listen to our salesman. We haven't started implantation yet so I'm in the blissful ignorance stage.

We are trying to bring in sales history.
I have successfully imported Sales Header&Detail in Epicor.
The problem is when I goto export Sales history thru Forecast, it will not export that history. Our goal is to use Smart Forecast.

It seems like Epicor needs to invoice those orders, not sure how to do that thru DMT, we are talking 16,000 sales orders. Called support, gave me a non-answer
OUCH! Are you going live? Or are you currently live?

Implementation Rule #481: Don't bring in history (invoice, sales, po,
etc.)

I would respectfully encourage you to re-evaluate if this data is absolutely
necessary. In a dozen or so of my implementations in my career, I have
*never* brought in history. I leave the legacy database somewhere
accessible or export the history and store it on the network somewhere in a
format such as Excel or something.

We didn't bring any history into Epicor's structure, there is just too much to try and weave together and Epicor strongly discouraged it. We used a UD table and query it like it is PartTran.

You should be able to do a bpm on the export and use records from UD history into forecasting.

Been there with an earlier version of Epicor Enterprise importing from Attache and CBA. Not a very good result for all the effort and cost.

I agree if you really need it. Put in UD tables or look at it from the old system.

My 2c worth.
