We would like to attach documents for shop floor employees to access
in MES, but when I open the Documents bubble, everything is grayed
out. I have nothing to use. Is there something special that I need
to do / have in order to use this??
I don't know what you mean by a Documents bubble.

Are you trying to program the blank MES buttons to do things like Print
a Job Traveler or other reports?

The bubble is just a reference to a particular place on a CAD drawing. If you want you can attach drawings on the part master and then view the attachment on the floor. Jjust open up MES and it will take you to part tracker where you can open up the attachment on the part record

There is a button that says documents on it when you go to start
production activity. It is greyed out until after you choose your
operation in the drop down box. I am not sure but there may be
licensing required to use that funcion. It works on our end with
nothing special configured that I know of. We do have doc
management & advance doc licenses though.

Ours works also upon choosing an operation. We also have license for
Document Management for V8.03.404. Like Michael wrote, I don't know
of anything special that we did to get it to work.

Good Morning Everyone,

I am trying to make sure that a phone number is entered into customer
contact field. I believe the file name is CustCnt

But I do now see it under the customer.update, pre-processing, "the ?
field of the changed row is equal to the "", value. Can't I set the ?
field to CustCnt.phonenumber?

Where do I do that?

Thanks!

Dale

I did not realize you meant after you open up the documents. You
can attatch documents to an operation through job entry. Just right
click on it in the tree view and choose add attatchment. It will
then show a list when you open up the documents.

after entering an operation, but where does the information need to
be linked to in order to use it at this level?? Does it need to be
linked to the part?? operation?? --- In
