Does anyone have experience with linking the Part’s Planning Set to the Dynamic Attribute Set?
How does MRP determine which planning set to link to which Dynamic Attribute Set?
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks

The Dynamic Attribute set needs to be marked for MRP, there needs to be a theoretical attribute, and you need to create the planning sets in the attribute. Don’t have AUOM anymore, so might not be using the correct terms.
Thanks John. We are experimenting with the Inventory Tracking items to see what changing the Planning parameters does.
It appears that MRP can only be chosen if Attribute data type is a Combo box.
We were advised to only have 1 combo box to one attribute within an attribute class. Otherwise, Kinetic generates too many attribute sets.
Out of curiosity, why do you not have AUOM anymore?
New job at a different company.
I don’t know why you would be limited to one drop down, the attributes you need are the attributes you need. ![]()
Thanks for mentioning the combo box thing, that jogged my memory. Yes, you need to create the “planning” attributes to get it to work for MRP. If I remember correctly, you are only creating the planning sets once, so if you buy pipe in 8 and 4 foot lengths, you would only have 2 planning sets. The planning sets and the actual sets do not really interact, think of them as separate sets for the same part.
Thanks John - sorry for not replying to your note. It’s been a bit hectic since I was last here ! That is good to have clarified about the planning vs actual sets being completely discrete elements. Thanks again for your input ![]()
