Does MRP Always Suggest Engineered Jobs?

I am working on MRP, running simulations in Pilot. I have this one part that is a sub assmebly to the top part. I have MRP setup to suggest jobs for all the assemblies. This looks ok. But the Job that MRP suggests is for the wrong rev of the part, and the unfirm job suggestion looks like it is already engineered. I have tried several ways to change this.

I started by opening the job that is creating the demand for these sub assemblies. I could see there the parts were on the wrong rev. I was able to correct that in the job.

Now when I run MRP again, I expect to get job suggestions for the sub asm at the right rev. But it keeps suggesting the wrong rev, and I cant change it. On the unfirm job, I cant change the rev because it is not firm. If I firm it, then I can change the rev, but then I have to manually append the details. Instead I want to entirely replace the details.

I know I am missing some basic element of this. Forgive me if its obvious. MRP is not my strength…

The use PartRev field in part entry will select the highest part rev, regardless of what’s on the BOM.
There’s a hierarchy to part revs (rev name and effective date), I can’t remember the details.

That makes sense. This rev is at the top of the list because its the last one we did. If we want to keep this rev as approved, but not use it as the latest, would we just go back to the older rev, and then reapprove it so it is the last approved rev?

You can try that, but if you have multiple approved revisions on a part then I would uncheck the UsePartRev flag on the part master so it will use whatever rev is on the BOM.
