Dual MRP

Is there a way to run a long term MRP with a cutoff date of 1 year and a short term MRP with a cutoff date of 1 week, and not have them interfere with each other? I don’t want the short term MRP to delete or modify any of the long term jobs or suggestions.
Long term MRP - runs nightly, cutoff date of 1 year in the future, for long term purchase suggestions, and uses Forecast for demand
Short term MRP - runs every 10 minutes, cutoff date of 1 week in the future, used for production, and uses Sales Orders for demand.
Any suggestions?

I have experience d some EPI-indigestion when putzing with MRP in EPI-world… but…

MRP execution can be managed with the standard Filters!
Filters Site Part Part Class Product Group

Presume you have a well-defined and structured Part Class or Prod-Group, with some fairly short-range parts (3 mths) and other long-range parts (10 mths). IF PART CLASS OR PRODUCT GROUP were well defined, then (since PRODUCT GROUP would be the thing you are selling as the top-level on a MOM/Job… running MARP by PRODUCT GROUP maybe your solution.
Perhaps a nightly run with MRP dates matching the near-term 3 mths with no filter, ergo all parts.
Then a net-change at NOON… for specific Product Groups for 10 mths .

I have never processed this way!
all part job sugg’s would result on the nightly.

I PRESUME, EPI-MRP would not wipe-out all data processed from nite-run, but perhaps only wipe-out the PROD GRoups identified in the mid-day run.
The Mid-day run would have the targeted Prod-groups… I presume MRP would only wipe out any job suggs for pertinent parts. You might run this as REGEN… or try only doing Net-change as it might be NET-CHANGE would not wipe out any sugg’s still required???

I’d pick ONE prod-group to evaluate.
Full MRP at night… (staff can see demands in the morning)
Targeted Prod-group at noon (with anticipation to quickly evaluate).

Plz share results! Inquiring minds want to know

Thanks for the input! I have tried using the product group filter to limit MRP to only the top level parts, which I need to continually process for the short term, but it will delete all of the long term bottom level suggestions even if those bottom level parts are not in the selected product group. It seems to process any lower level part if a part above it is included in the MRP group I am running. I would like a way to exclude the purchased raw parts even if they are in a BOM which I am processing during MRP.
