Duplicate customer PO's

Real easy RB report to sort by PO within Customer and count/reset on PO and then print some info only count > 1. Report should be empty unless there is a problem. A good end of day (or whetever your order fulfillment tolerance is) check. Don't even have to print, just preview to spot duplicates.

Vantage will not duplicate PO's. What may have happened (it happened here)
is a buyer calls a
vendor and looks in vantage to get the next open PO but does not enter the
vendor header information
in the system against that PO leaving it as "fair game" for the next buyer
to use. This has happened
to us a couple of times and has always had the same scenario.

We have had that problem also! We just tell customer service to make sure
they check in customer tracker before they enter new orders ( for the same
PO # )-- it's a pain, but they would rather do that than have doubles.

It is not unusual for any system to allow more that one SO for a customer
PO.

This is a case where the order entry people need to be aware that
duplication can occur if they are not careful.

We have the same problem.
I created a Report Builder Report which is run by Customer Service or Shipping Dept's. at about 4:15pm to catch the duplicates.
After a while they get bored though, since duplicates don't happen often, they stop running the report and gotcha!
