Duplicate Pack ID's

From the database perspective, they are stored in different tables:
ShipHead and Shiptl
vs.
MscShipHd and MscShipDt

I noticed that Epicor will allow you to create Pack ID's under the same number. For instance, I created a record for Customer Shipment Entry and it gave me a pack ID of 102. I also created a record for Miscellaneous Shipment Entry and it generated the same pack ID of 102. I can see this causing problems. Is there a way to stagger these values to spread them apart? Such as starting one set of Pack ID's to 1 and the latter to 500. Is there a reason why Epicor doesn't restrict the use of the same Pack ID number? Any information on this topic will be valuable and appreciated.

Thank you

The packers are actually 2 different packers.

Customer shipments are not the same as Miscellaneous shipments as Miscellaneous shipments create no transactions within the system.

What I did was put an ‘M’ in the front of the Misc packer number upon print. That way if someone mentioned an M packer we knew it was a miscellaneous one.
