Hi there,
Anyone have a theme file setup to get program looking like the E9 blue and yellow menu / screens again? The themes that came with the E10 program don’t come close, and frankly are awful! Who wants to look at light grey everything? It’s mind boggling…
I thought E10 came with the Office2007 theme, which is what you are looking for, but I guess maybe I did the same thing that @josecgomez is recommending once upon a time when we first went to E10.0. Above is my recollection of what you have to do, but it is extremely hazy at best.
That said, I also have grown to love the dark theme and wouldn’t go back now.
Ok, I can get there on the general look of the login and main menu / home page type differences, this I already prefer.
However, are you telling me that you are using forms that look like this dark e10 one compared to the e9 one and prefer this dark e10 one?
Thank you for feedback… I’ll need it when we go live and people are complaining.
Nancy
A lot of our people do not like the new look at all. I had them go to
Settings in E10; Preferences; Theming and then click on ‘Disable Theming’
and log out and then back in…they were then happy campers. It looks like
E9.
Thanks for your instructions on disabling theming Carole. I had not realized this option existed. With theming disabled in E10, it looks like white on white forms. Is this what your forms/tracker interface now look like?
Nancy, I’m with you! Used to it now, but I wish I had the E9 themes.
I spent a few hours and adjusted one of the E10 themes a bit to add more
blues and lighter colors. Our users have been more happy but I get asked
for the “nicer one” every so often. Especially the icons, we’ve only got
the stock E10, flat and white, not colorful ones like E9.
The first thing I do when I log in to a new system is set the theme to
Office 2007, set the enter key to work as tab, and move the delete icon far
away from the save icon.
Yes, I prefer the dark now. But maybe it just more closely matches my overall taste in UI. For instance, here is what I have my Office 2016 theme selected to be:
Hi Randy,
I was thinking the same thing as you, then re-read some of the posts and thought “Gee, why is Jose telling me to export office 2007 theme from E9 and then import it to E10 when E10 comes with it canned?”. Interesting thing, Jose is right! See below difference from when I use the Office 2007 file from export from E9 then import into E10 vs using the Office 2007 theme file that came with the E10 install.
Using the E9 Office 2007 isl file along with Andrew’s suggestion to import classic icons, and I think we’re going to be able to let people who love their E9 interface to pretty much keep it.
