E10: Redirect E10 Client to a different server - SOLVED

Hi All,

I found the issue.

The first server was originally installed and patched to version 700.2
I had later installed 700.4 but the server config file still said the version was 700.2 so the client config that was downloaded also said 700.2
The new server was directly patched to 700.4 the server config file correctly said 700.4

When the client config is changed from server to server, this triggered the upgrade.
I have updated the original server's config file and all is well.

Thanks for all the help.

/SKIPCHECK seems to work
Opens up with the correct server.

Have you tried it with the -skip in the target line just to see make sure
it's at least connecting to the right machine?

These were two clean installations on physical servers.
One named ERP01 and the other ERP04.
Client has been pointing to ERP04 and wanted to point to ERP01.
Both server have the same DB and Application name.

I edited the .sysconfig file in the config folder by replacing the server
name everywhere I found it.
Each time I change the server name, it triggers a redeploy of the client.

Same as before, check the auto-deployment location down the bottom.

Were these 2 different clean installations or did you copy a VM and rename
it?

Hi All,

I have two servers running E10.0.700.4

I want to redirect my client from Server A to Server B.
Both servers are using the name Application name.
I thought I could just update the config file by changing the server name
but when I do this, it forces a client update.
In the end this works but then I have to reapply all the one-off fixes.

Am I missing a step or am I doing this wrong?
I just want to point to the other server and go.
