E9 Data Scrubbers

I was concerned more about corruption, watching the statistics on how many records it was changing, I soon discovered I could care less about the effects on reports. Your mileage may vary, but after almost 8 years live it was only fixing records on each conversion program in the hundreds at most, some only a couple dozen and I only had to run about 8 of them. I guess it depends on what percentage of your records are being affected as to if you should be concerned. Either way it’s somewhat of a moot point if you’re impending the move to 10 anyways… it is what it is.

Thanks Rob.

I don’t have a concern about the programs causing havoc. I’m guess I’m wondering if fixing a problem could cause a swing in a report that has been wrong all along.

After you ran it against your test database, did you perform any checks to makes sure things looked ok or were you just testing to make sure it didn’t corrupt anything?

Joe,

I run them against my test database that I update from my live as I trial run conversions. They don’t take long and if you do it that way you certainly don’t compromise your live system.

Hello,

I’m waiting for the fix programs for the data scrubbers that have failed against our E9.05 database.

Where these programs will fix issues with the data, I am wondering if they will create a significant impact to our operations.
I suppose part of the answer depends on which fix programs I need but I was wondering what other’s experiences have been running these data scrubber fix programs.

Has anyone run into any issues running these program?
Did you notice any significant impact to reports? If yes, which ones?
While I know testing them is always recommended, did anyone take the fix programs on blind faith and just run them against live?
Any other issues?
