I would also add that in Vantage customizing tended to be a bit flakey and
there was the ability to lose work randomly. I haven't seen the same things
happen in E9 that I saw in Vantage, so if you do end up working in Vantage I
would recommend saving your work often.

Only problem for me is that V8 is VB only not C# and there are no wizards
almost available so Simple Search, and UD Fields and stuff like that you
have to code by hand.

Hi all,

I have been asked to do some customizations for a V8 system. I have never used V8, only E9. How much different/harder will it be to create similar customizations that I have in E9 in V8? Are EpiDataViews available, access to adapters and using the DynamicQuery BO? I'm guessing V8 is a lot more limited than E9, just curious by how much before I get to deep into this.

Thanks!
-Ted
To clarify, the system is Vista 8.03.409

I am still cutting my teeth on customizations. But we came from 8.03.409 and are now in 9.05.701. They are similar enough that I am able to use the V8 Tools User Guide to figure out what to do in E9. I have had to do very little mental gymnastics to figure out the differences. Differences do exist, but seem minor to me. Work is done via data views and adapters in V8. I am not familiar with the DynamicQuery in either case.
