ECM cannot send email to shared mailbox

Our work flow in ECM sends out reminder to receipt goods when the AP invoice comes in. Recently, something has changed and ECM cannot send out emails to Shared Mailbox. For normal user mailbox, it works fine, but for shared mailbox , recently I start getting this error.

Tried to do Message trace on Exchange and nothing comes through. Anyone has ideas on how to fix this please let me know.

I don’t think that is ECM. It looks like a response from the smtp receiver sending back that…

According to our infrastructure team, the email ECM-Cloud@docstar.com is white listed. This is why I am scratching my head.

@TobyLai - I’m assuming your IT team means that address is whitelisted for you to SEND to. That’s not exactly the error.

I think, like @gpayne , that MS is telling you that you’ve violated the rules somehow. MS has these rules to prevent open relay/spammers from using it nefariously. There is a limit of how many emails a single mailbox can receive/send. I’m thinking that may be your problem.

But it’s not 100% clear. What you are seeing is an ECM error but caused by message delivery failure. It could be the (poorly) translated ECM version of the failure message from the SMTP server.

Separately, Brent Ozar has opinions on automated emails from SQL Server, but the same rules apply for other applications.
