I’ve been exploring the different ways I’ve utilized Epicor ECM and was curious to know if anyone has any ideas or experiences they’ve had with the software.
This is more of a discussion to share what’s possible with ECM, and to see if there are any improvements or suggestions for areas like AP Automation, SO Automation, or the UI Interface that could benefit the community. I’d love to hear any ideas or insights you have!
One area I believe could be improved is the handling of Mobile Approvals.

Currently, the Mobile Approval subject is either hardcoded or blank. A customizable subject like the send email task is desired.
Trigger notifications currently are not related to the Request Mobile Approval, for Mobile Approvals, the original request is only way to approve without signing into ECM, but the Trigger notifications can be sent, these are not related to the Mobile Approval request. The desire is to make mobile approvals have repeat notifications by either adding a Trigger feature to the Request Mobile Approval or by adding a checkbox on the Trigger Notification that would send repeat notifications that include the Click here to Approve/Deny.
Another idea I’ve been considering is enabling email integration with the ECM system. For example, when a user receives an approval request or a document via email, it would be valuable if they could reply directly to the ECM system. The content of the email—including any notes—would then be automatically captured and attached to the related ECM document.
This functionality could be leveraged in many ways that would allow non-ECM users to approve a document by replying to a workflow notification.
The capture of communications would assist with communication gaps and assist in any situation where users aren’t able to sign in.
