ECM pdf stuck in Image processing

Recently ECM got upgraded, some invoices are stuck in Image processin…

It looks like when it stuck in Image processing, the pdf will be viewed as View Native rather than View Image.

When I click on invoices that were created before 23/04/2026, the bar is there.

restarting the service should fix this.

To add to what @gpayne recommended, you can also force the system to image a document through the Actions menu > Requeue Imaging function. In order for this to work, you need to have an active ECM Client listed in the Distributed Queue Management panel under Queue Processors. This ECM Client must have the Image option selected. Also, if you need to image Microsoft Office documents you will need the Office option selected and either Microsoft Office running on that machine or Libre (sp?).

Thanks Greg and Victor.

For some reason, my Configure Service tab didn’t have any of the Process Queue tick box ticked.

After I ticked that tick box, the queue started to reduce.

So all the attachment from Epicor to ECM also go through this Epicor ECM (Docstar) Client?

Toby

All documents imported into ECM end up in the image processing. The images go through a process where the pdf/image file enters the queue and the queue processor generates the png file, until the png file generates the website will show a image processing status over the image.

As far as I am aware, attachments from Epicor arrive in ECM without the assistance of the ECM Client; however, they will not render as images without the ECM Client. Also, while ECM can seemingly store any file type, I don’t believe that it will render all as an image. The most popular formats it handles well are images (Eg. PDF, TIF, JPG, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Eg. DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, etc.). Fortunately, this has little to no consequence as you can view the file natively in ECM and viewing or downloading the attachment via the link in Epicor will always display things in the native format of the attachment.
