It must be a .bmp photo. I do not recall the resolution size but it was mentioned in an earlier post in this thread.

How do I enter an employee picture?

The application supports photograph files that use the standard .BMP
format. To use employee photographs, these files must also be stored
inside a specific folder.

The Directory Path

You place all your photograph files inside this directory path:

\\<Server UNC Name>\mfgsysdata\empphoto\<company>\<empid>.bmp

Substitute the variables in this path with the following information:

* <Server UNC Name> - The main directory you use for Vista. This
is the directory that both the server and the client machines use.

* <Company> - The company ID for each active company within the
application.

* <empid> - The name of the photo file; this identifier is
defined in either Shop Employee Maintenance or Payroll Employee
Maintenance.

For more information, read the Shop Employee Maintenance or Payroll
Employee Maintenance topics.

Example: If you have employees with photo file IDs of JOHN and MARY in
company ABC, the photograph file directory listings would look like
this:

\mfgsys80\mfgsysdata\empphoto\ABC\John.bmp

\mfgsys80\mfgsysdata\empphoto\ABC\Mary.bmp

Create Photograph Files

If you have the hardware and software in-house to scan photographs and
create bitmaps, you can create your own photo files.

Epicor's Manufacturing Solutions Group also provides this service to
you. Contact your account manager to learn more about this service.

Technical Details

The application displays employee pictures at 150 X 150 pixels. Even
though the application will size your pictures when it displays them,
your employee pictures will look much better if your photograph files
are this same size.

Create pictures with 256 colors. If you use 16 colors, the picture will
be fuzzy; if you use 32K or more colors, the file will get very large,
and the resolution will not be that much better than with 256 colors.

Put the bmp file inside a new subfolder within the EMPHOTO folder that
is the company number they belong to (a folder simply named 1, 2 or 3).

If I remember correctly it is approximately 150 x 150 pixels (we
actually use 149).

I figured out the problem. Vantage will only allow a file name of 8 characters. Since I use the persons name as the file name, it would not associate the picture to the employee properly.

I carried over a plan from a previous employer. We use the shop floor ID.
I think if you have the payroll module and the photo is in place before you
create the employee, it brings it in automatically, but I could be mistaken
on that. It's been a long time.

Subject: [Vantage] Employee Photo

Financial Management > Payroll > Setup

I click the File button and select am employee photo. The photo never
displays even after I save and restart. Any ideas?

I have the same problem as Jeff. The file photos are in bmp format (do they have to be a particular size?). They are located in the folder Matt indicates. Still, that does no good. In case it makes a difference, we are on Vista 8.03.403.

The BMPs must be very very small (in file size).

I don't recall the threshold but I would try to get the file down to
50KB or less.
