I’d like information on how to use the Employee Training Course. I’ve played with it but want better information on best to use, what is can’t do etc.

Epicor provides NO info.

It is a 3 step process.

  1. QA>Setup>Training Course - setup the training course details, also revision controlled if required
  2. QA>GenOps>Training Course Schedule - here you setup a schedule of training for a particular course and select participants. You can also mark the results of the course after completion here.
  3. QA>GenOps>Employee Training Course - here the results of the training are entered after completion of the schedule for individual participants. Alos gives details of all training courses for an individual employees

The two trackers are for step 2 and step menus.
Employee training request is for employees to request training. I have not used it so cannot comment. I believe the employee requests a course and it would go to his supervisor for approval…You will have to try

Hello, you helped me with Epicor Training module. Questions:

  1. During training setup, can I add an URL where the training is located (like to slideshare.com)
  2. Can I assign a training to multiple employees at the same time, if so how?
  3. How to alert employee(s) to the training? How can I send an email or alert?

Also looking to utilize the course training functionality. Our intent is to capture machine/operation training certification and then take it to the next steps to build BPM’s against part and/or operation to verify that a person is certified to undertake the activity according to current training stored in Epicor. After reviewing and playing with this it looks like anything beyond the capture of employees taking and passing a specific course will be entirely custom built functionality, correct? I’ve seen nothing so far which points to Epicor having std functionality to take action based upon what is stored for employee course work. Anyone have insight along these lines or has undertaken customization to give the course information some “bite”?
