When using the Resequence Materials on the Engineering Workbench, it locks up the Engineering workbench which causes the user to close and reopen. This Locking up is not just a wait for the program to respond. We have waited for 10-15 minutes in the past.
Our resolution has been to Resequence, Wait a minute or so, Close Engineering workbench, Reopen, Confirm that the materials have resequenced successfully and move on.
Unfortunately, the IIS Worker Process continues to run in the background on the server for hours which uses up all of the CPU resources on the server resulting in degradation of ERP performance throughout the day. It is ok when there are only 1-3 resequencing Worker Processes a day, but that is rarely the case.
The only way to clean this up is to Restart IIS. I have checked for BPMs that may be affecting this process and have not found anything. I am coming here to see if any other users have experienced this in the past or if it is just me.
We are on prem, running 2024.2.25 with a local client at the moment. I have instructed the user to try using the web client which we will be moving to in the coming months anyway to see if that helps at all.
If left unchecked, it will cause a w3wp.exe crash.
