Epicor 10 SaaS Speed Feedback

I have a question for the SaaS users. I am getting complaints that E10 is slow.

So my question is, how have your users accepted E10 in a SaaS environment? What are some ways you sped up E10?

It takes us about 10 seconds to generate an order acknowledgement. It also takes us about 3-5 seconds to pull up an order.

When we were on-premise (Vantage 6.1), things like what i just mentioned were almost instant.

Hello Andrew,

Yes, no SaaS product is going to be as fast as your on-Prem Vantage 6.1 and there shouldn’t be an expectation that it should. Yes, ten seconds for forms is about right and 2-5 seconds to pull up a form is what we see too. Unlike Jason, we are Single Tenant users moving to Dedicated Tenancy, so our users only know Epicor as a SaaS product.

Do I miss some of the bits and bytes from my Vantage 8 days? Sure. Do I miss the doing upgrades with documentation that wasn’t always clear? Or running conversion programs with strange messages? Or doing backups? Or server reboots for patches? Nah. With Dedicated Tenancy, I have a little more control than Jason did with Multi-Tenancy (and we need it as Product Configurator users). But I have more time to actually use the product and spend time with the users than sitting in the computer room feeding the cuss jar. SaaS isn’t for everyone but it’s a good fit for us.

I have not been in on a SaaS performance lab in a while so not sure current expectations. I’d be curious if this is global, a single user or a few users, one form, one workflow, etc.

There is tracing available where you can see how much time is being spent on the client and in the server for this clients server calls (see help - ‘Activate from Client’ - Include Server Trace). With exact measurements, you can have a better chat with support and SaaS administration.
