Epicor 9.05.700C - Report Data Definitions

I got burned when RDDs copied from Test to Pilot seemed to work fine - and
most did. However, the Table Criteria did not transfer and there was no
warning of this problem. A few reports blew up at very inconvenient times
after our go live and now I know to watch out for this or at least to be
aware of it... We used Epicor 9 version 605 at the time.

Can a customized RDD be exported to in order to move from Test to Live?

Not sure what version you are on, but I have used the Solution Manager in System Management with some success on that

Use the Solution Manager under Utilities. I think it only became available in 9.05 though?

Under system management/utilities is solution manager. When you create a new solution and save it, it displays all customizations, BAQ's, RDDs, dashboards, BPMs, etc You can choose to delete the ones you dont want so for example you could call the solution RDD and delete everything from the solution except the RDDs you want.

You can them import the solution from your test database into live

I have heard mixed reports on this in the past but when I have used it it worked for me

There was an RDD exporter/importer in the user files of this site that I used in Vantage 8. It was a godsend!

I've used solution manager for moving just about all my customizations in 607 -- except BAQ reports and quick searches. We were getting invalid parent errors on the BAQ reports so I had to manually redo them. I reported it to Epicor, it is supposed to be fixed in 701 (SCR96821 - might be able to get a one-off?). I haven't tested the 701 fix yet though.
