Epicor 9 & C# Blank Title 82763

Mark,

I have found and worked with everything you have discussed with ease. I really do like the new interface coming from 8.x so I am in agreement with you regarding all the help and new wizards available to us.

Thanks for the inside info. Though I was already familier with what you are describing here, the info is useful to note for others out there.

Chris,

I have to hand it to Epicor as I am entertaining the fact that in Epicor 9 they have now allowed us the opportunity to use C# within our UI Form Customizations and I am now moving forward with C# versus VB.NET and things are working out quite well. The problem I have is that I have yet to find any object explorer tools or references for C# only VB.NET. I guess I don't expect to find much since a lot of us have come from the VB.NET customizations with 8.x but if anyone else using C# has or knows of Epicor releasing an Object Explorer tailored towards C# please let me know. We are getting by quite nicely but sometimes its just nice to have a reference.

Thanks!

Not only are they enteraining C#, they encourage it if you want to use the
web-based forms. Epicor 9 has a C# -> Javascript converter but not a VB.Net
-> Javascript converter. So if you're using the web interface and you want
your customizations to work on the web, you must use C#.

Because of this, you will find under Customization Maintenance, a VB.Net ->
C# Converson Helper. In 9.04.504B, you will find a "Selected Issue
Helper..." button at the bottom of the Compile/Script Errors tab. Click on
the Custom Code tab to see the VB.Net -> C# helper.

When in customization mode, there is an Object Explorer but it only gives VB
examples.

Also in Customization Mode, you will find under the Tools menu some wizards
to generate code: Modify Extended Properties, Simple Search, Add UD table as
a Child, and a couple of other tasks that you would normally look up in the
Cusomtization Guide. Pretty cool.
