Epicor 9 CRM conversion

Just in case anyone else was wondering...Epicor 9 CRM maps over from Vantage Estimate Quote. I guess I'm stuck with the CRM setup in Epicor 9. I haven't heard back from support so guess I'll work on a BPM to bring in the defaults for converted orders. I'm a little surprised that there isn't a conversion program available that brings default CRM values into orders. Oh well, no one said it would be easy!

I thought that was why the 6880 CRM/quote conversion process is there because of users going from no CRM to CRM. Maybe the quote/CRM structure changed enough in E9 that a conversion program was necessary there, but the same may not be true for orders.

When a change is made in an order line of a converted order I can't save it until I've filled in the marketing campaign. We'll have many open orders when we convert, some with over 100 lines. Our sales department doesn't handle anything new well, I don't want them to have to deal with it. I've asked if there is a conversion program that updates the CRM info in the orders like 6880 updates the quotes. The tech keeps testing and explaining the default fields work, I know they work, I just want to know if Epicor has a way to move them into converted orders! I'm guessing I'll have to create a BPM to move it in or write a BPM and run it

If you are not licensed for CRM then Task Set, workforce, territory, campaign, etc are not used and you will not be prompted for any of that information

If you have CRM licenses, go into your company maintenance and under Sales'/CRM tab enter your defaults for task set, campaign, reason code, etc and see if that fixes the problem when you run a converted sales order

I have a call into Epicor that is becoming frustrating for both me and the tech that is trying to help, part of the issue may be a language barrier so thought I'd ask the group. on the converted database that will shove the values in, but wanted to see if Epicor had a way to take care of that.

Hmmm, maybe there's more going on than what I thought! I've been assuming (yeah I know, never assume!) that CRM is part of the base Epicor 9 package and we didn't have a choice. I thought that was why the 6880 CRM/quote conversion process is there because of users going from no CRM to CRM. We aren't licensed for CRM in Vantage, but we are licensed for CRM in Epicor 9. I can't enter the default information into Vantage because we're not licensed there. Maybe I need to decide to A) ask to have my CRM license removed from Epicor 9 or B) take care of the converted orders with BPMs.

Thanks Mark!
