Is the extension .mfgsys? Associate it with your Epicor executable (for example, C:\Epicor905\Client\MfgSys.exe). It should open the form you sent the email from and the record you had loaded at the time.
We have our Epicor 9.05.702 set up to send email alerts and all works fine BUT we were looking the function that we saw under any Maintenance you can go to File > Send > Record by E-mail. It doesn't work. Has one else used this function and/or know what I might have missed that needs to be set up for it to work. We don't get any error messages but no emails get send.

If I remember correctly the client needs to be set up to do this as well, in the default.mfgsys file accessed by the Configeditor. On the User tab there is a field for Smtp Server that needs to be pointed to your mail server accordingly.
Send Record by Email is the first email function we got working. Doyle is correct that the user config needs the smtp server. You also need an e-mail address in the user file to function as the From address, and check your junk mail folders after, because the messages got initially flagged as spam for seemingly random users.
Ok I don't know how to get to the screen that shows the tabs. I must be looking at the wrong place. can you tell me how to get there. I can't seem to find it or just some screen shots. I am guessing this all on the client PC?

We got it working but when you send record by email nothing in in email but a file that opens with text application. Nothing in body. I guess we need to populate the body...what should be in attachment. Evidently I am missing a piece.

You also need an e-mail address in the user file to function as the From address, and check your junk mail folders after, because the messages got initially flagged as spam for seemingly random users.</div>
