Epicor 9 Servers

We have around 50 users. I have two servers; one application server and one
database server. We are on 9.04.507A and are SQL. The servers are Dell
PowerEdge 2900s with two Quad Core Xeon Processors (3.16GHz). The
application server has 8 - 15K RPM SCSI drives (6 - 300 GB and 2 - 146 GB).
The database server has 4 - 15K RPM SCSI drives internal (2- 450 GB and 2 -
146 GB) with an attached DAS that has 12 - 300 GB 15K RPM SCSI drives.

The servers have been up and running since 2009 with little to no
maintenance.

Subject: [Vantage] Epicor 9 Servers

Does anyone have a good idea of what is needed for a server that will be
good for up to 50 users for Epicor 9?
The hardware guide is telling me 4 processers and 16 scsi hard drives.

We will be running server 2008 R2 64bit.

Any reconditions and manufactures would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

We run a Dell PowerEdge R905

4 Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 8378 Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm)
Processor 8378
Ram: 32761.9 MB (32 GB)
Storage Drives *IMPORTANT* SSD's

Mind you we run a Terminal Server (virtualized)
and Epicor Virtualized on this server with no performance problems (besides
the fact that Epicor is slow no matter what)

That's probably a fair recommendation. For my 2 cent, I would go with SSD.
If you don't need tons of space, the cost isn't really that big of a deal
anymore and the performance is night and day.

As far as manufacturers go, I'm partial to HP. But really, I think as long
as you stick to the major players you should be in good shape. Definitely
spring for the Intel chips instead of AMD. Grab as much RAM as you can;
16gb minimum, 32gb is better.
