Subject: [Vantage] Epicor 905 Year End

Â
We are on Epicor 9.05.700C and will be hitting our first year end in
December.

Does anyone have a list of how the year end works in Epicor? Is it a
soft or hard close?

Are there any jobs IT generally needs to run to reduce logs, etc.? Move
YTD to Last year totals, for example.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Every company is different on what their year-end requirements are. I would
recommend, at a minimum, creating an area for year-end backups and saving a
copy of your nightly backup that was created on 12/31/12 to that area. That
way, if you needed to restore it to a test area to run reports, etc, you
can. We are on SQL and I run a SQL backup nightly. Also, if you have any
scripts running to delete backups that are stored on your server that are
older than xx number of days, you will want to modify it so that it doesn't
delete your new year-end backup that you just created when it gets past that
(I had that happen the first year so our year-end backup from that year is
1-15-11, not 12-31-10).
