Epicor Backup question

Does Epicor use SQL? I have a client that has 2 versions of Epicor installed on a server:

Epicor 10.2.500.3

Kinetic 2022.9 |

I see the server has SQL installed on it, so I’m assuming it uses SQL server.

When I run backups (using Veeam) I have it set to truncate logs (application Aware Processing) and it fails to truncate SQL logs. It could be that the logs are already truncated so there is nothing to process, or I could have bad credentials for SQL, or it doesn’t use SQL and there is no need for application aware processing. I have asked Epicor support and they have not been able to tell me if it uses SQL. What are others doing to back up their Epicor servers?

Whatever user is doing backups in veeam needs SQL access. You will have to add those rights to SQL server and the database. Veeam has this documented, i would put in a ticket with them.

Thanks! I will take it up with Veeam.
