Is there a simple way to change between Kgs and Lbs in PO Generation for our inventory Parts, As we Have Kilograms in Aus and the Supplier in the USA quotes and uses Lbs so generating PO is tricky as we need to manually adjust pricing and weights.
On the parts in question, you need to set IUM to your KGs and set the PUM to LBs. The PO will populate with the LB as the UOM but it will show internally for inventory purposes in KG.
I guess depends on your definition of simple.
If you have a supplier price list for the part, you can set the Supplier UOM.
For example, I have a part where OUR inventory UOM is LBS. If I add that part to a supplier price list, I can set it up so the Supplier UOM is KG:
Now, If I choose that particular supplier on my PO header and add that part as a PO Line Item, it will appear like this:
Showing OUR Quantity in LBS and the Supplier Quantity in KGs. Notice it defaults to the supplier UOM in these cases, so $10 per unit equals $453.50 for the Extended Cost.
Using this method allows you to have multiple suppliers using various UOMs. One could quote in LBS, another in KG, depending on the supplier you choose on the PO Header it will default to their UOM for the line items.
