Epicor Prism Success Stories

As we are evaluating the transition to Cloud, one of the main benefits proposed is getting access to Prism.

Have there been any success stories of people being able to use it to improve productivity/solve a problem?

In the demos I’ve seen, I’ve perceived it as a glorified chat bot. Like it can answer the easy who are my top 10 customers and put it into a pie chart, but I have yet to see how it handles more complex things thrown its way or any other insight not readily available in the system.

The key benefits I could see is that it has access to the Epicor context so that as you’re building BPMs/customizations it could suggest BOs or given access to your data provide actionable insights.

Is it something you can access through the api or any other screens besides the slide out chat window in the main menu?

I’m sorry, I found no results for “French Military Victories”. Did you mean to search for “French Military Defeats”?

Hopefully this is taken as a humorous quip but…

If Prism is such a powerful AI tool, can it be trained to predict and/or fix SQL and SSRS crashes before they happen?

Aaaand, this is why I don’t think we should trust AI with decisions that matter.

Or the AIs are just playing dumb to fool us Hoomans.

I can imagine having a similar argument in ERP land.

Clearly these systems are ready for choosing military targets and driving around. . .

I watched an Epicor webinar last month “Accelerating ERP Customization with Epicor Prism for Application Studio” and was very underwhelmed by it. The examples demonstrated were very simplistic, and there was no indication that Prism was capable of anything more complex.

Occasionally I do find Prism in the embedded help to be useful; but it needs to have some indicator that it’s thinking because the AI response time is often 5+ seconds.
