Epicor reserving parts by itself?

Hi,
has anybody experienced that Epicor now after the last release (or timewise at least close to that) is reserving parts which actually are not reserved? We have a case where Epicor is saying in Fulfillment workbench that x amount of part y has been picked, even though they aren’t. This led to that the parts could not be picked, unless we made a quantity adjustment, which is not good, because it means the balances are not correct. If you have any experiences from this kind of thing, and how you solved it, information would be appreciated.

I haven’t seen them be picked, but I’ve had some that mysteriously get “reserved” sometimes, and then my team can’t ship them. This has been sporadically happening for a good while now, so I can’t pin it to any specific release issue. And its a once in a blue moon thing.

I usually have to go into the Fulfillment workbench, find the record that is reserving them, and then “unreserve” or “unallocate” via the overflow menu. There’s no option there to “unpick” though.

There ARE direct menus for “unpicking” sales orders and transfer orders. I’m not sure about job materials.

Hi,
we tried those thingsm but did not help…

If you query the PartTran table… can you look at records for that part and see who & when they are getting picked?

Again, not sure if these are STK-MTL transactions, etc., but there is an EntryPerson column on the PartTran table. Could at least help narrow down if this is a specific person inadvertently doing something?

Hi,
all of these we have already done, and the consultant too, but it does not seem to be the case…

Are they buy to order items?

Hi Doug,
no, we always produce to stock.

Do you transfer between sites? Our allocate or pick problems are nearly always caused by transfers as the system treats them differently to orders.

Yes this is the answer - unpick sales order fixes so many things. For job materials you would have to use the return material program.

No, only one site

Thank you Alisa very very much: this solved the issue!
