Epicor SaaS/Cloud - Performance

I’m hoping to gain some insights from other SaaS/Cloud users out there regarding expected speed/performance.

We are new to Epicor and just went Live in March. Now that things have settled down a bit the main complaint I’m getting killed by from my users is the sluggish at best to absolutely abysmal performance at times.

I do have a ticket open with Epicor about it and they are having us generate some HAR files for us to analyze, but I have been in IT for a long time and generally know how speed/performance complaints go… and I’m worried this is just par for the course.

Just to add a few more details:

  • We have 3 separate locations and all have reported similar performance issues.
  • I haven’t been able to narrow it down to certain menu’s or activities as of yet.
  • A general common complaint is data entry is painfully slow.
  • A general consensus from my users is its somewhat better in the morning hours (still not great though)

Any thoughts or experiences from other Cloud users would be highly appreciated.

Yes its par for the course but if you are very very persistant and detailed in your followup my experience is that they will eventually allocate sufficient resources to your environment. You need to make the business case, i.e. inability to enter orders or how much extra time its taking to ship, etc.

Ours is very good most of the time. There are times when performance degrades. Sometimes this coincides with an announced service issue, other times it doesn’t. But baseline performance is better than many on prem systems I have worked with.
