Epicor Scheduling

Hi,

I have the following scenario using Scheduling Factor Finish-To-Start and a production calendar of Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00.
Op 1 - 2 hours - Start 16/06/2025 08:00 - Due 16/06/2025 10:00
Op 2 - 2 hours - Start 16/06/2025 10:00 - Due 16/06/2025 12:00
Op 3 - 8 hours - Start 16/06/2025 12:00 - Due 17/06/2025 12:00
Op 4 - 1 hours - Start 17/06/2025 12:00 - Due 17/06/2025 13:00
Op 5 - 1 hours - Start 17/06/2025 13:00 - Due 17/06/2025 14:00

However, Op3 and Op4 can start after a batch of 2 have finished Op 2.

If I chage the Scheduling Factor to Start-To-Start and Send Ahead Type to Pieces and Send Ahead Offset to 2 then Op 4 will finish before Op 2 and Op 3 which doesn’t make sense.

Does anyone else tackle this type of production line problem?

You will have to use Finish to Finish so the later operations don’t end ahead of earlier ones.

I’ve tested various scenarios and got this working as expected.
I was hoping that Epicor might validate some inputs to prevent users from entering illogical sequences. Need to work out quite a bit either in excel or in your head before entering into Epicor.
