Epicor Sourcing Email Setup

I tried to set this up in my server 2003 but was unable to get the relay to
work. I will have to try this again!

Yes it does require authentication (username/password), which is why we use
the relay SMTP in house, which we don't require authentication on to connect

to and send emails.

You are going to need verification at some point in the chain, a truly open
SMTP isn't really going to exist anywhere legitimate, and more than likely
anything sent through one is going to end up getting caught in any SPAM
filter which is kept up to date.

Has anyone setup an epicor web app with an email server that is not part
of a domain. We have a 3rd party email service that requires a
username/password. The sourcing web app has a field for the server, but
there are no fields for username or password. We don't have exchange or
any other mail server setup in house so it will be a problem if we cant
get this resolved.

Setup a SMTP relay server to forward the e-mails to your 3rd party provider.

I have a relatively simple po with 4 lines, 2 releases of 12, for a total of 24 each of 4 parts.

3 of the 4 parts balance out and when creating the lines in the po receipt entry program, these three lines show the expected remaining quantities that are open.

However, where on one of the lines, it shows 8 outstanding (instead of 12). By default, it shows RECEIVED COMPLETE and if I elect to enter 12 received instead of the expected 8, then I get the expected warning.

If I open the same po in the po receipt status dashboard, I can see the receipts of the items, and in fact, the math works out showing that I should expect 12 remaining in balance.

I am not sure where the discrepancy is coming from, or if there is a program that might need to be run to reconcile these discrepancies.

Anyone have any ideas?

We have an open SMTP server provided to us by Cox that doesn't require
authentication. You could also build a quick SMTP server on Linux.

No, they all appeared open. In the lines screen under receipts, it shows an outstanding quantity of 8, but the math between the po order totals and and receipt summaries just don't match. I can not find anywhere any line activity that would even imply to be a potential source of the discrepancy. Strange.

Just a stab in the dark: Did someone mark the release received complete (short)?

Subject: [Vantage] Discrepancy between outstanding quantities in receipt and po receipt status dashboard

Carey

Sounds like a bug. 404 was full of them. We quickly went to 405 after going live.

Yes, Works like a charm for us. We have our windows servers(alerts, backup
exec, etc), phone system, Vantage, UPS, Fax Server, Alarm/HVAC system all
using it with absolutely no problems.

The only problem we had was trying to use the SMTP on our Exchange server
once we shut down Exchange, we could never fully clean it out so we moved
the SMTP to a new server and set it up from scratch and it has worked
seemlessly, except for the day when we changed the password of the account
we use on google and forgot to update the SMTP server with the new password.
