599 is returned due to invalid parameters passed to the database logon.
There are many causes to this. Here are some of the things that I've had to
do to get rid of the 599 error.

1. Unregocx.bat and vcopydll.exe
2. User permissions on the WINNT\CRYSTAL (if it exists) (NT/2000/XP
Only)
3. Create a compiled report and install Crystal run-time DLL's on
system (this works great!)
4. Create System DSN instead of User or File DSN
5. Delete DSN and recreate
6. Convert to Merant 3.6 IVPRO ODBC driver (recommended as last resort)

If you have a version of Crystal 8 lying around, then I would recommend
creating the compiled report. I've read where you can create compiled
reports in 8.5 with the 8 download, but I haven't tried this yet.

I have modified my Crystal Quote form with some tables via ODBC. When I try
to print preview the form in Vantage I get the following error: Error 599.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

If this matters, I am trying to do this on my Citrix server.

Running Vantage 4.00.904, I have had the "Error 599 :ok", followed by "Error,
Could not load DLL procedure crpe32.dll.(3258) :ok". Vantage tech support
has a document on this they can email you. For Win 95/98 workstations, you
might want to try copying the V:\progress\bin\prosql32.dll file (from the
server) to the c:\windows\system folder (overwritre old prosql32.dll ) on the
workstation where the error occurred. Reboot workstation, and see if it
works. Otherwise you will need to unregister the .ocx files, this procedure
is in the tech support doc.

By this do you mean distributed reports? I tried for a long time to get the
8.0 download to work with 8.5 and it would never show up as a tool bar menu
option. I ended up going back to 8.0 (with lots of .DLL headaches). Sort
of like 8.5 was set to ignore it. If you can point to where you read this I
would appreciate it.
