Progress online help shows the following

'' console event received. (5406) The process has received notification of
termination and will begin an abnormal shutdown. "

We do not get this msg ... I'd suggest you call EPICOR Progress tech support
PDQ or call Progress directly.

Until you know what's going on you may want to be very paranoid ... How
often do you backup your DB ?

I looked in the database Admin. for the error but is the " '$ÿIø!A'"
should all this appear in the error?

13:40:09 SRV 2: '$ÿIø!A' console event received. (5406)
