I'm pretty sure William is talking about the Progress Data Dictionary tool
rather than the Vantage Data Dictionary Viewer.
If you don't have a license for Progress ProVision (application development
tool), I don't think that you have access to the Progress Data Dictionary
tool.

look under the help button on the data dictionary. There are two options.
Recent messages will step back through recent error messages. Messages
prompts for a message number, and displays an expanded error message, that
sometimes will suggest ways around the problem.
