ESDM help in 701

Chances are one of the services is not running.

There are 4.

Epicor Authorization Service Lite
Secure Data Encryption Certificate Installer
Secure Data Service
Secure Data Web Service

Chances are one of these may not be running, this is aldo the order they
should be started in, and then stopped in reverse order.

If they are all running, make sure they are running with no errors, check
the error logs for each of them.

Could also be a port setup issue, or a permissions issue between the
different services.

Those are the various problems that have cropped up in the various
installations of this I have done, they are almost always a headache.

Subject: [Vantage] ESDM help in 701

Hi.

So we are making the leap to 701 from 606a and use ESDM for credit card
processing.

Everything is installed/upgrade and up and running except credit card
capability. When trying to authorize a card I get a error noted below:

Exception caught in: Epicor.Mfg.BO.SalesOrder

Error Detail
============
Message: Errors were found during the invoke of SubmitCredit:
Web service operation SubmitCredit generated a SOAP Fault. SOAP faultstring
is: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to
process request. ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException: The creator of
this fault did not specify a Reason. (11506) Fault Code: Receiver Fault
String: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to
process request. ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException: The creator of
this fault did not specify a Reason.

I've actually ripped out ESDM completely and poured over the docs to
re-install it. Same issue.

By chance anyone have any guidance?

Thanks in advance,
Kelly Renner

Did you generate a new security key from the secure DB.

Sorry should have read the part about ripping out. Did you back up and restore the secure DB and encryption DB? Did you copy the Web Service folder from the 905 folder to the ESDM server after upgrading if it is located on a different server than E9? Do you have the certificate from the previous installation located in the key service folder? Last question again did you generate a new secure DB certificate.

Whenever I got errors in the credit card module I always ended up calling support. It takes a while to get through it with them over them phone but they've always been able to get me running. Way too many moving parts on this thing and the instructions are not well written. To top it off, I was told last time there were bad install files in the download so the support tech copied their files over.

If you call support the main things they make you do is install logged in as a local admin on the server and create wide open certificates (not following their own security advice in the documentation).

If you find any pointers please share, the ESDM is such a can of worms!
