Existing RDLs/Report Styles Being Overwritten

Version 11.2.400.0 → 2025.2

We are updating from 11.2.400 (2023.2.4) to 2025.2. We are doing testing and we have a custom RDD for Work In Progress. We would get an error stating that two fields were unavailable. The two fields were in JobHead and were removed in 2024.1.

I went into the RDD, confirmed the fields were not there, and went to the RDL to make the edits to remove the fields.

After I remove the fields from the Query and Fields in the appropriate datasets in Microsoft Report Builder and re-run the report, it fails. When I check the RDL it was updated right before the run failed and it was overwritten by SVC_Epicor and the RDL has the fields replaced.

I’ve done some investigative testing and found this:
If I make a new RDL and Report Style it works as expected.
If I take the new RDL and connect to the existing report style it works as expected.
If I take the existing RDL and connect to the new Report Style it fails.

We’re noticing this in others as well, but it seems to be the same fields. We have regenerated, recycled, and restarted the task agent.

Is there something we’re missing? Or is this something we’re going to have to do with any reports that we run into with this issue? Any help would be appreciated - this is definitely become a painful issue. Thank you!
