Expedite Sales Orders without emails

Today in Kinetic when an order needs to be expedited to shipping, the sales coordinator sends an email to the shipping agent. Our shipping group would really like to see those triggers show within Epicor via fulfillment workbench rather than email. I originally thought we could use a priority field on the order, but now I am having trouble finding it so I’m not sure if it ever existed and I just imagined it. We ship mostly from stock so adding a priority to the job isn’t helpful. I am thinking we are going to have to do a customization for Order Entry and Fulfillment workbench.

I’m wondering what others have done in their companies to cut down on expedite emails and have Epicor drive the response that seems to work well for your teams.

Your idea to customize Order Entry and Fulfillment Workbench sounds right to me. There is no built-in Sales Order Priority field. Perhaps someone added one somewhere else in your Epicor implementation.

We added an Urgent field to on our PO header, customized PO screen, PO report form, and some dashboards / search screen to show it.

We have a dashboard of sales orders by release and release date. From there we make MtlQueue records and those have a priority that I allow the user to set. Epicor uses 1-10, so I default all of the ones they don’t set to 5.

We have this MtlQueue for STK-SHP refreshing up on a TV, so they can see what needs to be pulled today and once the normal items are processed any rushes show up as the only things on the screen.

I do also push an email if the order got pulled into today after noon, so everyone is aware of the lateness of the request and more than just the TV is making them aware.
